Getting to Utrecht

By air. The best way to get to Utrecht by air is to travel to Amsterdam (Schiphol Airport). Schiphol is the main airport of the Netherlands: most major airlines have it as their destination. Within Europe, budget airlines also fly to Eindhoven and Maastricht. From there, you can take a train to Utrecht Central. Eindhoven Airport is an hour by train, Maastricht about 2 hours.

By train. International trains arrive at both Amsterdam Central and Utrecht Central. From Amsterdam Central, many trains go to Utrecht Central.

By car. Utrecht is a busy city in the center of the Netherlands. From all directions, highways lead to Utrecht. Note that traffic can be quite terrible.

Travelling within Utrecht

For an interactive map of all the ECVP 2008 venues, go here.

By bus. We have arranged bus-passes (for commuting between the city center and the conference site) for all conference attendees. From the center of the city, bus lines 11 & 12 go to the Uithof (where the talks and poster sessions are) every 5-10 minutes.

By bike. Travel the Dutch way and rent a bike!
At the Central Station: Catharijnesingel 34 (Laag Catharijne).
In the city: Nobelstraat 293 (fietspunt).

By taxi.
Taxis are easily available throughout the city. Note that taxis have a fixed fare in the Netherlands (a meter with a base tariff).
