ECVP Student travel support awards

 

Please note that application for travel support awards is no longer possible.

A limited number of travel support awards is available for PhD-students that submit an abstract to the ECVP 2008. The award consists of € 500 or € 1000.

 

Criteria:

To be eligible for consideration, each applicant must be the first author of a submitted abstract (both talks and poster presentations are eligible). Past award recipients of ECVP travel awards will have a lower priority.

The scientific committee will consider quality of the work as presented in the abstract their main criterion for support. The financial situation of the student will be considered as well, which means that students from well funded universities and programs are not likely to receive support.

 

How to apply:

Send an email to awards@ecvp2008.org containing:

• A brief statement (1/2 page) of your personal information, background and why you want to visit the ECVP,
• Proof of your student-status (for instance a confirmation letter by your supervisor),
• Expected travel and housing expenses for the conference.

Notification of the travel support awards will be sent in June 2008. You will have to submit an abstract (and register) to be able to apply for an award. However, eligible candidates that do not receive a travel award will be given the option to retract their abstract and be reimbursed for their registration fee free of charge.
